The Nandanvan police have launched a search for other accused who may have helped Karan Kawduji Ramteke (21), a resident of Jai Bhim Chowk, in kidnapping and raping a minor girl. Karan, along with Rohit Shravan Sonwane (23), a resident of Chandra Nagar, Old Pardi, has been arrested for gang-raping the girl and recording an obscene video at a lodge. The shocking incident came to light after the girl reported the matter to the police. Following her complaint, the police arrested Karan first and later nabbed Rohit based on his involvement in the crime. On Sunday, Nandanvan police produced Rohit before the court, which remanded him to police custody till October 30. Karan is already in custody till the same date.

Police officials said both accused will be interrogated face-to-face on Monday to find out who assisted them in kidnapping the girl, how long they had been following her, and how they planned the crime. The police are also probing the role of the lodge owner, including whether he knowingly allowed the accused to use the room or was threatened. nvestigators suspect that the two may have been involved in similar offences earlier. The police are examining their mobile phones, video footage, and call records to gather more evidence. A special team has been deployed to trace anyone else connected to the case.
