Wife’s love affair leads to murder: Husband kills her with shovel

 

 

A husband murdered his wife after discovering her alleged affair with another man in Panchshil Nagar under MIDC Police Station limits on Sunday afternoon. The accused, identified as Kishore Shankar Pradhan (31), has been arrested by the MIDC Police for killing his wife Rinki Kishore Pradhan (23) with a shovel. According to the police, Kishore worked in a local garage and occasionally took up daily wage labour jobs. He had married Rinki five years ago. The couple did not have any children. Over time, their relationship became strained. About a year ago, Rinki developed a romantic relationship with a young man named Karan. Their closeness grew through WhatsApp chats and video calls, which eventually came to Kishore’s notice. 

 

Rinki fled to Ahmedabad Despite several attempts by Kishore to stop her, the arguments between the couple kept increasing. The situation worsened when Rinki allegedly eloped with Karan to Ahmedabad around 25 days ago. Enraged and humiliated, Kishore decided to trace her. With the help of relatives, he went to Ahmedabad nine days ago, where he found Rinki and Karan. There, Rinki apologised and promised to end her affair and return home. Kishore brought her back to Nagpur with a hope for a fresh start. However, his hopes were soon shattered. 

 

 

Within a few days of returning home, Rinki resumed communication with Karan through WhatsApp and video calls. On Sunday morning, Kishore once again found her chatting with Karan. When he confronted her, Rinki allegedly gave vague answers, which infuriated him. In a fit of rage, Kishore picked up a shovel from the house and struck Rinki on head. She fell to the floor and started bleeding profusely.

 

 

Trying to cover up the crime, Kishore told two of his garage colleagues that Rinki had accidentally hit her head against the wall and was injured. With their help, he rushed her to Lata Mangeshkar Medical College and Hospital. However, doctors declared her dead on arrival. The hospital staff alerted MIDC Police about the suspicious circumstances. The police team reached the hospital immediately and questioned Kishore. Initially, he repeated his story that Rinki’s head had accidentally hit the wall. However, after further interrogation and when confronted by the police, he broke down and confessed that he had murdered his wife in anger using a shovel. The police have registered a case of murder against Kishore under relevant sections of the BNS. He has been taken into custody. Further investigation is underway to gather evidence, including the murder weapon and phone records.
