Setting aside their differences, the two main factions of the Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC) on Thursday joined hands to elect the new team of office-bearers for 2025-26 term. The region’s leading body of traders unanimously elected Farooq Akbani and CA Hemant Sarda as the new President and Secretary at its 81st annual general body meeting held at Rajwada Palace, near Gandhi Sagar in the city.
In addition, the chamber’s new executive committee was also formed which includes:- three vice presidents - Swapnil Ahirkar, CA Ashwini Agarwal and Umesh Patel; three joint secretaries - Manish Jajani, Ashok Sanghavi and Deepak Agrawal; Treasurer - Sachin Punyani; Public Relation Officer - Hussain Ajani; and executive body members -Rajwantpal Singh Tuli, Shabbar Shakir, Abhay Agarwal, Dnyaneshwar Rakshak, Rajubhai Makhija, Amit Ramesh Agarwal, Prakash Mehadia, Manoj Laturia, Mohan Choithani, Rakesh Ahuja, Prabhakar Deshmukh, Mohan Gattani, Rajan Agarwal, CA Girish Mundada, Rajkumar Gupta, Daulat Kungwani, Rajesh Muniyar, Nirman Agarwal, Sanjay Agarwal (Pacheriwala), Narayan Toshniwal, Santosh Kabra, Rakesh Gandhi, Sanjay Paliwal, Sunil Bhatia, Saket Suri, Madhur Satish Bang, Suryakant Agarwal, Natwar Patel, Salim Ajani, Sunil Jagyasi, Sushil Jhaam, Umang Agarwal, Vikesh Agarwal and Dharmendra Ahuja. Outgoing President Arjundas Ahuja welcomed the new team members.
It is important to note that the two factions led by two past presidents of the chamber - Dr Dipen Agarwal and Ashwin Prakash Agarwal (Mehadia) had differences of opinion for the past couple of years. However, during the AGM of Thursday, Dr Dipen Agarwal and Ashwin Agarwal joined hands and pledged to work for the betterment of the traders’ body.
The meeting was attended by former presidents Gopal Soni, Hemant Khunger, Jagdish Bang, Hemant Gandhi, and more than 250 members.
