Untiring efforts of JMC sanitation team stands out during festivities

 

 

Jabalpur’s historic main Dussehra procession not only displayed cultural grandeur but also highlighted the commendable efforts of the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC). Within just one hour of the mega event’s conclusion, the Municipal Corporation’s sanitation teams restored the entire procession route to a spotless condition. The remarkable act is widely appreciated by office bearers of Durga Samities and other dignitaries. Municipal Commissioner Ram Prakash Ahirwar informed that a special cleanliness drive had been organised from Teen Patti to Hanumantal, covering every stretch of the procession route.

 

Dedicated teams of sanitation workers were deployed in advance, ensuring that as soon as the procession passed the roads were immediately cleaned. The result was gleaming, dust-free streets across Sanskardhani. This year, along with organising the historic Vijayadashami procession of 2025, the Municipal Corporation had set a unique goal, to complete the cleaning of every part of the route without delay. For the same, Chief Health Inspectors of each division, along with their staff were instructed to clear litter the moment the procession ended in their respective areas. To ensure strict implementation, Additional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, and Executive Engineers were appointed as nodal officers for different divisions.

 

Following these directives, the officers, inspectors and workers worked in perfect coordination. Using road-sweeping machines, garbage picker vehicles, tippers, tractors and manual labour, they quickly removed polythene, pouches, banana peels, offerings and other waste materials. The immediate clearance restored smooth movement for residents and left the roads shining once again. The swift and efficient sanitation effort during this year’s Dussehra has been hailed as a model of civic responsibility, setting new benchmarks for cleanliness management in festive gatherings.
