THE city is all set to host the Saptarshi
Awards ceremony on Sunday at 10.30 am
at the Kavikulaguru Kalidas Auditorium,
Persistent Systems, IT Park. Organised by
the Hindu Research Foundation, MumbaiNagpur, the awards recognise outstanding
contributions in the fields of Literature, Arts
and Science.
Established in 2000, the awards annually felicitate seven distinguished achievers,
each receiving a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and
a certificate of honour.This year’s ceremony
will be attended by Vedrishi A B S Sastry,
Founder and Director of the Shri Maharshi
Research Institute of Vedic Technology,
Guntur, as chief guest.
Dr Vedprakash Mishra, Chief Advisor of
Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences,
Wardha, will preside.
The initiative is inspired by the legacy of
India’s great sages, including Maharshi
Valmiki, Acharya Bharadwaj, Aryabhatta,
and Sushrut, whose contributions to knowledge and innovation remain influential.The
Foundation has expressed its vision of
elevating the Saptarshi Awards to a global
platform, akin to the Nobel
Prize.
The seven awardees for 2025
are: Padma Vibhushan M M
Sharma (Nagarjuna Award),
Padma Shri Dr Ravi Grover
(Acharya Kanad Award),
Padma Shri Prahlada Ramarao
(Acharya Bharadwaj Award),
Padma Shri Ramesh Patange
(Maharshi Valmiki Award), Dr
G Madhavi Latha
( Vishwakarma Award),
Indranil Biswas (Aryabhatta
Award), and Dr Anil Golhar
(Acharya Sushrut Award).
The Saptarshi Awards,
now in their fourth edition,
have previously honoured
illustrious figures such as
Padma Bhushan Nambi
Narayanan, Bharat Ratna Dr
C N R Rao, Padma Vibhushan
Dr Anil Kakodkar, and
Padma Vibhushan Dr Jayant
Narlikar.
