Sao calls for promoting Chhattisgarh’s culture, literature across the World

Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao exhorted citizens to promote the state’s culture, literature, and glorious history both across India and abroad. He was speaking at the inauguration of the ‘Hamar Chinhari Chhattisgarhi Quarterly Magazine’ website and the magazine launch ceremony, organised jointly by Hamar Chinhari Sahitya Samiti and Soch Vichar Media at Vimtara Bhavan, Shanti Nagar, on Sunday. Deputy Chief Minister Sao highlighted Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural heritage, referring to its history, the contributions of saints and scholars, and traditional Dadriya songs sung by farmers during work.
 
He urged citizens to spread awareness of the state’s glorious past and cultural wealth worldwide. The event honored artists, writers, and social workers who have enhanced Chhattisgarh’s prestige. Amit Chimnani, patron of the event and BJP state spokesperson, said that the Hamar Chinhari website will help the world discover Chhattisgarh’s culture and history. He praised the efforts of the organising committee and thanked State Cabinet Ministers Tankram Verma and Guru Khuswant Saheb, Raipur Rural MLA Motilal Sahu, and State Child Protection Commission Chairperson Dr Varnika Sharma for their support.
 
The magazine launch featured performances by the Joshi sisters, Diksha-Deepika Dhangar, Gaurav Rai, and Harshika Dhruv. Special honours were conferred upon Chandrashekhar Chakor (Chhattisgarhi folk games), Ishwar Sahu ‘Bandi’ (Mahtari paintings), Bhojraj Dhangar (painting and rangoli), Beniram Verma (Chhattisgarhi jewelry collection), Santosh Kumar Sonkar ‘Mandal’ (literature), Rameshwar Sharma (literary service), and others for their contributions in various art forms. The event also showcased poetry recitations by Rameshwar Vaishnav, Mir Ali Mir, Padmalochan Sharma ‘Munhphat’, Kishore Tiwari, and Suman Sharma Bajpai. The programme was conducted by Vijay Mishra and Mamta Soni and witnessed the presence of several patrons and prominent Chhattisgarhi artists. The Deputy Chief Minister’s message and the celebration of Chhattisgarh’s talent highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting the state’s unique cultural identity on a national and international platform.
