People rescuing those trapped in the ‘ill-fated’ car after the mishap.

IN A heart-wrenching incident, a family lost its head and three daughters in a day following an accident on Friday morning. Out to teach his eldest daughter driving, the man lost all three young daughters in the mishap after his car went out of control and was hit by a truck. The man, who along with his 5-year-old niece, survived the accident, died of heart attack while undergoing treatment. The 5-year-old girl too is reportedly critical.
As per reports, deceased Riazuddin Sheikh, aged 52 years, of Vasant Ganga Vihar area of Wani city ran a truck repairing garage in Lal Pulia area. He was at home on Friday as it was a holiday.
In the morning, his elder daughter Myra requested him to teach her how to drive. So, Riazuddhin took Myra, aged 18, and his younger daughters 13-year-old Zoya, and 11-year-old Aniba and his 5-year-old niece Inaya for the drive.
They set off towards Brahmini Road in a Scorpio car (MH-01/AH-5700). When they reached near Jannat Hotel, Myra, who was driving the car, lost control and the car crossed the divider and landed on the other side of the road. Unfortunately, a truck (MH-40/AK-0358) coming from the other side at the same moment, hit their car hard. In this horrible accident, Myra, Zoya and Aniba were killed on the spot.
On getting information, Wani police along with the traffic department staff immediately reached the spot.
The police sent the bodies of the deceased to the Wani Government Hospital. Riyaz Sheikh, who sustained slight injuries in the accident, could not bear the trauma of the terrible incident and died of a heart attack during treatment. Inaya, too, sustained critical injuries and is undergoing treatment.
After the accident, the truck driver fled from the scene. The police have launched a search operation for the driver. Investigation is underway under the guidance of Police Inspector Gopal Umbarkar.
As the news of the horrible accident spread, the relatives and friends of the family reached the Government Hospital. Meanwhile, Lions English School, of which these girls were students, has declared a holiday for the school on November 1 as mark of condolence.
