Binkar, Bisht shine as Vidarbha crush Tripura

 

 

VIDARBHA brushed aside Tripura by 179 runs to register their second win in the U-23 Men’s State ‘A’ Trophy’s Elite Group D at Anantam ground in Jaipur on Thursday. Vidarbha piled up 306 in 50 overs after being asked to bat first. Varun Bisht top-scored with 96 and shared an 81-run partnership with Rohit Binkar (86) for the fifth wicket. Sanskar Chavate (42) and Pratham Maheshwari (46) also chipped in with useful scores to take Vidarbha past the 300-mark. Tripura were never in the chase as they failed to build partnerships. Kaustubh Salve was pick of Vidarbha bowlers, finishing with figures of 3-26, while Sahil Sheikh and Jagjot scalped two apiece. Brief scores: Vidarbha 306 all out in 50 overs (Rohit Binkar 86, Sanskar Chavate 42, Varun Bisht 96, Pratham Maheshwari 46). Tripura 127 all out in 35.1 overs (Durlab Roy 40; Kaustubh Salve 3-26, Sahil Sheikh 2-22, Jagjot 2-13). Result: Vidarbha won by 179 runs.
