Petitions challenging 2025 Reservation in Promotion Rules in Madhya Pradesh were heard on Thursday before a divisional bench of Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice Vinay Saraf in Jabalpur High Court. During the hearing, the petitioners told the court that rules enacted by the state government violate Articles 14 and 16(1) of the Constitution.
The petitioners argued that the government enacted these rules without gathering concrete data and assessing the actual representation of backward classes.
