The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHDC), in collaboration with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, organized a state-level painting competition on “Energy Conservation” at Subhash Yadav Bhavan, New Market, Bhopal. The event was graced by the Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Mangubhai Patel, and NHDC Managing Director Rajeev Jain, who awarded winners in two categories.
The competition had two groups: Category A for students of classes 5-7 and Category B for classes 8-10, with themes “One Planet, One Opportunity – Save Energy” and “Energy Conservation: My Responsibility, Our Future.” Winners received cash prizes ranging from Rs 50,000 for first place to Rs 7,500 as consolation, and all participants got Rs 2,000.
In Category A, first prize went to Aarohi Chaurasia, while in Category B, Evaz Alam took the top honor. Winners will represent Madhya Pradesh in the national competition in Delhi on 11 December 2025.
Governor
Mangubhai Patel highlighted the importance of teaching energy conservation from a young age, while MD Rajeev Jain praised students’ creativity and reiterated NHDC’s focus on green energy and energy efficiency. NHDC, a joint venture of NHPC and the Madhya Pradesh government, operates major hydro and solar projects, ensuring 100% electricity supply in the State.
