Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Sunday laid the foundation and inaugurated six industrial units in Maksi, with a total investment of Rs 8,174 crore, along with 20 major development projects worth Rs 487 crore. The event, held at Dussehra Grounds in the Maksi industrial area, also saw the inauguration of the new building of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sandipani School. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Yadav said that the Malwa region, famous for its fertile land and rich culture, is emerging as a hub for green energy. “Maksi will develop as a central manufacturing hub in India for green energy equipment, offering local farmers opportunities for processing, packaging, and storage,” he said. The six industrial units include two inaugurated facilities and four for which the foundation was laid.

Dr. Yadav also laid the foundation for the 38.95 km four-lane road from Ujjain to Maksi, costing over Rs 384 crore, aiming to strengthen connectivity in the region. He highlighted that these projects will create employment for more than 15,000 people, both directly and indirectly. In addition, the Chief Minister approved the Lakhundar irrigation project and the upgradation of the Berchha-Jhokra-Maksi road. A high-level bridge over the Lakhundar river, costing Rs 20 crore, was also announced. On the occasion, relief worth Rs 39.50 crore was directly transferred to 60,000 farmers in Shajapur district. Dr. Yadav noted that the government has so far provided over Rs 1,802 crore in compensation for crop damage and natural disasters across Madhya Pradesh.

He also spoke about the government’s efforts to increase milk production by 20% and provide financial support for cow-rearing farmers. Dr Yadav highlighted the government’s focus on women’s empowerment under the Ladli Bahna Scheme, which provides a monthly assistance of Rs 1,500, along with an additional Rs 5,000 for women employed in industrial jobs. He also announced the development of educational infrastructure, including a medical college in Shajapur and an Ayurvedic college in Shujalpur. The Chief Minister underlined the formation of a new industrial corridor linking Ujjain, Devas, and Shajapur, emphasizing its potential for green energy, MSME growth, supply chain development, and food processing.

In Shajapur’s Bhadoni-Bamaniyakhedi-Kherkhedi area, an MSME park with an investment of Rs 2,500 crore is underway, expected to generate 4,000 new jobs. During the event, Dr. Yadav also inaugurated and laid foundations for various other local projects, including skill development labs, municipal development works, and a grid with 315 MVA capacity in Matgaon. A directory of nearly 995 religious sites in Shajapur was released, and awards were presented to local achievers, including a student who won a silver medal at the 4th Asian Kudo Championship in Japan. The ceremony was attended by local MPs, MLAs, government officials, farmers, and citizens from Shajapur, Maksi, Ujjain, and Devas.
