A sharp drop in temperature was recorded across Madhya Pradesh on Sunday, with many parts of the State experiencing cold wave to severe cold wave conditions. Winds remained light, blowing at an average speed of 8–10 kmph and no rainfall was reported anywhere in the past 24 hours. According to the synoptic situation, a low-pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal off the Sri Lanka coast persisted on Sunday morning along with an associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level.
 
The system is expected to move slowly west-northwestward over the next 24 hours but its impact on Madhya Pradesh’s weather remains minimal, keeping conditions dry across all districts. Severe cold wave conditions prevailed in Bhopal, Rajgarh, Indore, Rewa, Jabalpur, Sehore, Shajapur and Shahdol, while Dhar, Nowgong, Damoh, Shivpuri and Betul experienced cold wave conditions.
 
Malanjkhand recorded a cold day. Maximum temperature showed no major change and stayed 1.8°C to 3.6°C below normal in many districts. Minimum temperature also remained steady but significantly below normal by 5.1°C to 7.9°C in several parts of Bhopal, Indore, Rewa and Jabalpur divisions. Rajgarh and Shajapur recorded lowest minimum temperature at 6°C, while Khandwa registered highest maximum at 30.5°C. In Bhopal, cold wave was particularly severe, with minimum temperature dropping to 6.4°C—9.2°C below normal. Maximum temperature remained at 26.2°C, nearly 4°C below normal.
 
Morning humidity was 55% and no rainfall was recorded. Clear skies with light haze prevailed and winds blew at 8–10 kmph. The forecast for Bhopal and nearby areas until Monday morning indicates clear skies and continued cold conditions, with daytime temperature around 26°C and nighttime temperature near 7°C. Residents have been advised to take necessary precautions against the cold, especially during early morning and late evening hours.
