A special session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly will be held on Tuesday, beginning at 11 a.m. The session has been convened to commemorate 25 years of the parliamentary journey of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly.
This session will also hold historical significance, as it will be the last to take place in the current Assembly building. The next winter session will be held in the newly constructed Assembly complex at Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 1.
Thus, this session will not only celebrate 25 years of legislative history but also mark the graceful conclusion of proceedings in the present Assembly building.
MLAs from all parties, including the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the main opposition Indian National Congress, will share their experiences of democratic participation, legislative work, and public service.
The House will also discuss the Assembly’s achievements since formation of Chhattisgarh, key policy decisions, and
public welfare legislations.
Senior MLAs will be given a special opportunity to share their parliamentary experiences and memories.
It is noteworthy that the first session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly was held in November 2000 at the Jashpur Hall of Rajkumar College, Raipur.
