Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai hailed the security forces for their exceptional courage in a major counter-insurgency operation along the Chhattisgarh–Andhra Pradesh border, which led to the neutralization of top Maoist leader and Central Committee member Madvi Hidma along with six other cadres. Calling it a historic achievement, Sai said that the development marks a decisive milestone in State’s fight against Naxalism.
The Chief Minister said that the elimination of Hidma, who had long been the face of bloodshed, violence, and fear in the Bastar region, is not only a tactical success but also a major blow to the red terror.
“This incident strengthens our resolve to establish lasting peace in the region,” he added. Recalling recent developments, Sai noted that the surrender of hundreds of Naxal cadres, the arrest of several top operatives, and a series of successful operations in recent months show that the Naxal movement is now in its final phase
Chief Minister Sai emphasized that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the state’s good governance model has ushered in a new era of peace, trust, and development in Bastar. Initiatives such as ‘Niyad Nella Nar’, the Naxalite rehabilitation policy, and the establishment of new security camps have helped strengthen public confidence and instill new hope across villages in Bastar.
Expressing optimism about the future, the Chief Minister said that with the joint strategy of the Centre and the state, India will be completely free from Naxalism by March 2026.
