Panic gripped Uriya Mohalla area when a miscreant killed a woman by stabbing her with sharp-edged weapon under the jurisdiction of Omti police station, on Tuesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Muskan Yadav (31), a resident of Uriya mohalla area. According to Omti police, they received information from District Government Hospital that a woman was admitted for treatment of her critical injuries in an attack in Uriya mohalla.

 

Learning about the incident, police reached the hospital and found that the woman succumbed to her grave injuries. In further investigation, police learnt that, on Tuesday morning, the deceased was working outside her house when a miscreant, who lives in the same locality arrived and tried to talk to her forcefully. When Muskan ignored him and attempted to go inside the house, he suddenly attacked her with a knife.

 

After committing the crime, the accused managed to escape from the spot. Some onlookers rushed the severely injured woman to the district hospital. Due to her critical condition, she was referred to the medical college, where she succumbed to her injuries. Additional SP, Ayush Gupta reached the crime scene with Omti police officials and began the investigation. During the inquiry, residents informed the police that the accused, identified as Golu Yadav, had been harassing Muskan repeatedly for the past three months. Muskan’s husband had also objected to his behaviour earlier.

The victim’s husband, Anand Yadav, said he was bathing at home when he heard his wife scream. As he rushed outside, he saw Golu Yadav attacking Muskan with a knife

 

When neighbours gathered, the accused threatened them with the knife and ran towards Ghantaghar. He added that the accused is a habitual criminal with prior cases of theft, assault and several other serious crimes already registered against him. Omti police have registered a case and started a rigorous search for apprehending the accused.
