Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav inaugurated multiple development projects worth Rs 39.80 crore in Kagpur, Vidisha, including the groundbreaking of 135 new community halls and a plan for a tourism water park, under the State’s ongoing rural development initiatives. Addressing a public gathering, Dr Yadav emphasised the government’s commitment to the welfare of farmers, women, and youth, and highlighted efforts to connect villages to streams of development and self-reliance.

The Chief Minister inaugurated a Rs 5.75 crore modern haat bazaar in Kagpur, featuring 128 shops, aimed at serving local residents and surrounding areas. He also performed the groundbreaking of 135 community buildings, totalling Rs 34 crore, under the state’s rural infrastructure program. Dr Yadav stressed that farmers are receiving fair prices for their crops under the Bhavantar scheme, and efforts are underway to ensure every village and field has access to water through initiatives like the Ken-Betwa irrigation project.

The Chief Minister highlighted the State’s focus on water conservation, development of ideal Gram Panchayats, and infrastructure upgrades, including roads, crematoriums, and basic amenities. Kagpur was presented as a model village, showcasing comprehensive planning and citizen participation, with significant contributions from local donors, including Soudan Singh, who provided land for the haat bazaar.

Dr Yadav also emphasised social welfare programs such as the Rahveer Scheme for road accident victims and the operation of PM Shree Air Ambulances. Cultural preservation efforts include developing sacred sites related to Lord Krishna and Lord Ram, along with Geeta Bhavans across the state. State Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Singh Patel noted that for the first time, three-story Panchayat buildings are being constructed, with strong foundations and funding from the 5th Finance Commission. The initiative aims to provide robust civic infrastructure across all villages by December 2026, including roads and community facilities.
