All-rounder Himanshu puts Vidarbha in command

A FINE all-round show by Himanshu Kawale put Vidarbha in a commanding position on Day 2 of the four-day U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy match against Pondicherry at the VCA’s Jamtha Stadium on Monday. After piling up 330 runs in their first innings, Vidarbha bowlers dismissed Pondicherry for just 82 runs in their first innings thus taking a 248 runs lead. Himanshu was the wrecker-in-chief, claiming six wickets for 43 runs. Captain Kush Sharma chipped in with two. Vidarbha were quick to enforce the follow-on and Pondicherry were 14-0 at close of play. The visitors trail Vidarbha by 234 runs.
