MOIL Limited celebrated the Environment and Mineral Conservation Week on November 21 at Gumgaon Mine. The objective of the event was to maintain ecological balance in mining operations, ensure sustainable and responsible use of minerals, and raise awareness among employees and the local community about environmental stewardship. Chief guests included M K Soni, Team Coordinator, Senior Manager – Mining, RCCPL Pvt. Ltd.; Rahul Garade, Senior Geologist, MSMC Ltd.; and Manoj Mondhe, Assistant General Manager – Mining, MOIL Ltd; At the outset, Umesh Charpe, Mine Managee, welcomed all the dignitaries.

 

Activities during the week comprised pollution-control measures, water-management reviews, assessment of green-cover status, and comprehensive environmental audits. A tree-plantation drive was also organised, and a street-play on environmental protection was staged by students of nearby Jawahar High School, Khapa. A drawing competition for students further reinforced the conservation message.
