Beltarodi Police Station officers conducted an awareness programme about drug abuse under the Operation Thunder on Monday. The event was held under the guidance of the Commissioner of Police Dr Ravinder Kumar Singal to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drugs.
A press release stated that police officers and administrative staff from Beltarodi Police Station attended the programme and guided teachers, students and school staff at Gondwana Public School, Shankarpur.
The police shared complete information about different types of drugs, their dangerous impact on youth, and the legal actions taken against drug consumption and trafficking.
During the event, citizens and school staff were informed that if anyone gets information about the use or sale of drugs, they should immediately inform the nearest police station. The police assured that the identity of the informant will be kept completely confidential.
The main objective of Operation Thunder is to create strong awareness in society and to spread the message ‘Say No To Drugs’. Visual aids such as banners and hoardings were used in the programme to make the message more effective and easier to understand, stated the press release.
The police station staff led by Senior Police Inspector Mukunda Kawade, under the guidance of DCP Zone IV Rashmita Rao, students and citizens took active part in the event in spreading the anti-drug message.
