UNIDENTIFIED person burgled a house in Sakar Nagar and took away jewellery and cash amounting to lakhs of rupees under the juris
diction of Gora Bazaar police station. According to Gora Bazaar police, a man lodged the complainant that he in legal drafting, he left for Shahdol with his wife on November 21 around 12 Noon to attend a wedding cere
mony.
His daughter, Aparna Dwivedi, was at home at that time but locked the house and went to her grandmoth
er’s place at around 5 pm. On November 23 around 4 pm, when the couple returned, they found the iron main gate locked, but the mesh door in front of the main wooden door was open. The main door could not be opened with the key as it was locked from inside and the inter
lock was broken.
The complainant’s wife checked the upper floor through the iron staircase. The iron door upstairs, usually locked from inside, was locked from the out
side. After entering, they found two steel almirahs broken open, with valuables scattered and jew
ellery missing. Complainant informed that around 130 grams of gold, includ
ing gold coin, necklace, man
galsutras, earrings, rings, tops, pendants, locket, gents ring, nose pin, mang tika etc while around 1 kg 290 grams of silver, includ
ing waistbands, anklets, toe rings, bangles, children’s jewellery and a silver Shri Yantra and approx
imately Rs 50,000 cash are miss
ing from the house.
The stolen jewellery was purchased between year 2001 to 2005 amounting to Rs 1.42 lakh. Acting on the complaint, Gora Bazaar police have registered a case while further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the thief
