THE men and women teams of Samarth Vyayam Shala clinched titles in 53rd Inter-Club Nagpur District Volleyball Tournament which concluded at Anandnagar Sports Academy ground. In the women’s final, Samarth Vyayam Shala defeated Raje Raghuji Nagar Krida Mandal in four sets with scoreboard reading 25-17, 22-25, 25-22, 25-18. Samarth’s Kanishka Chafle won the best player award for her excellent show. The other players of the winning team include Mitali Dule, Aarushi Kubade, Priyank Baghekar, Suhani Kohre and Bhagyashree Patil. Areeba Sheikh of Raghuji Nagar was named as the upcoming player.

 

The Raghuji Nagar team had Bhumi Kirjekar, Siddhi More, Akanksha, Jahi Bhoyar. In the men’s final, Samarth Vyayam Shala ousted Nagpur City Police in four sets 18-25, 27-25, 25-23, 25-23. Sujal Dhurve of Samarth won the emerging player award while Sagar Sakhdev of Nagpur City Police claimed the best player award. Prizes were distributed by President of Maharashtra Volleyball Association, Vijay Dangre. Nikhil Bobde, Taluka Sports Officer, Bais, Pant, Sunil Hande, Arvind Gavai, Vaibhavi Dangre, Saurabh Rokade and office-bearers of Nagpur Volleyball Association were present.
