Staff Reporter :
DESPITE the police’s tough
stance against hooliganism and
the action of parading arrested
suspects, the audacity of criminals in the State capital remains
unbroken. Following the arrest
of four main accused in the case
involving the vandalism of 11
cars in the Gautam Nagar Police
Station area, their two absconding accomplices have issued an
open challenge to the police by
going live on social media.
The viral video has caused a
major stir within the police
department.
In the viral video, the absconding partners of the arrested
accused appeared live on a social
media platform, mocking the
police and saying, “Catch us first,
then we’ll tell you who did the
vandalism.”
They also openly threatened
informants, stating that those
who provide information to the
police will face consequences.
This video has once again raised
serious questions about the city’s
law and order and the effectiveness of police patrolling.
On Saturday, November 23,
miscreants attacked the Green
Park Colony with stones and
sticks, shattering the windows
of 11 parked vehicles.
The motive behind the crime
was to extort Rs 3,000 per month
as protection money from the
complainant, Chandan Indoria.
Following complaints from
residents and the video going
viral, the police became active
and arrested four main miscreants within 24 hours and
paraded them through the
streets.
Arrested Accused: The
four accused arrested and sent
to jail by Gautam Nagar Police
are: Ankit Yadav (24), Aryan
Panthi (20), Arjun Singh
Sondhiya (22- who has 12 criminal cases), and Cheenu alias
Kunal Kuril (18). ACP Rakesh
Singh Baghel stated that the
social media video has been taken into cognizance and is undergoing technical investigation.
