Day 3 of CM Maha Karandak State-level one-act play competition 
 
The third day of the prestigious Chief Minister Maha Karandak State-Level One-Act Play Competition brought together three compelling performances on Tuesday, each exploring distinct themes while bridging history and the modern day through impressive theatrical craftsmanship. The inauguration was conducted by Ajay Patil, President of the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad (Nagpur), and Avishkar Darwhekar. Dr Ravindra Bhusari, Prafulla Mategaonkar, judges Ashok Semel and Shakuntala Nare, and Dr Satish Pawade were present.
 
The first presentation was ‘Chitrangada’ by Amravati’s Advait Bahuuddeshiya Sanstha, written and directed by Vishal Taral. Based on the Mahabharata, it portrayed the emotional journey of Chitrangada, deeply drawn to Arjuna. Performers included Atharva Deshmukh, Manish Karale, Om Gore, Nikhil Ingole and others, with music by Vishnu Avande, set design by Swati Taral and make-up by Jyoti Karunuke. Guidance was provided by Sanjeevani Purohit, Vishal Khodke and Dr Shyam Deshmukh. Next, Nagpur’s Shri Ramchandra Bahuuddeshiya Sanstha presented ‘Veer Baburao’, directed by Chaitanya Dube, depicting the valour of Baburao Shedmake, a key revolutionary who ignited resistance against the British during the 1857 War of Independence.
 
The production featured a strong ensemble and technical support from Prashant Shende, Ameya Dube and others. The final performance, ‘Navra Aala Veshyipashi’, was staged by Swami Natyangan, Dombivli, written and directed by Rajratna Bhojane and Yash Navale. Centred on an arranged marriage between two youngsters, it showcased the nuances of familial expectations. Performers included Prathamesh Devkule, Ranjana More and Shubham Bhavaskar, supported by a dedicated creative team.
