Horrible condition of Jijamata Udyan in Chhatrapati Nagar

 

 

‘The Hitavada City Line’ issue (Thursday November 20, 2025) has published the pictures and detailed reporting, showing poor condition of once beautiful garden, Jijamata Udyan, Chhatrapati Nagar. Looking to these, one does not understand whether it is a garden or garbage dumping place or place for unlawful activities or abandoned piece of huge land. It was a source of fresh air, walking place for senior citizens, playing area for children but now it seems to be a place of nuisance value in many respects.

 

The beautiful place has become ugly. Less said the better about the authorities who are responsible for maintenance of public places like gardens, squares, streetlights, lakes, roads, vanabala toy train of Seminary Hills, footpaths etc. etc. ‘The Hitavada’ is doing a very good social service regularly in such matters. People do appreciate this service but sorry to say those accountable people are least bothered and are in deep slumber. Will it be hoping against the hope to see this garden in its original beautiful shape when it was inaugurated? Hope for best.
