Sanskrit language

I strongly agree with Phanshikar Sir about his point on Sanskrit being called a dead language by some insane politician. In our country, Sanskrit is considered as the mother of most languages, including Marathi. Today, in almost all CBSE and State board schools, thousands and lakhs of students are learning Sanskrit language. In lower classes, Sanskrit shlokas are recited by the children. This practice not only improves their pronunciation ability but also to have a loud and clear voice. It requires them to memorise these shlokas and repeat as chorus. A study has proved that when children start this from younger age groups, it helps them activate the different areas of the brain for logical, critical and analytical skills. Sanskrit is such a lovely language to listen or read. It is one of the most scientific languages and its grammar is like mathematical formulae.

Once you learn the fundamentals well, rest goes like a cakewalk. The tables, the vocabulary and the richness of its expression can never be compared with any other language. All our old scriptures are very well written in Sanskrit and they are also formulated to be read or easily recited in a melodious way with a catchy rhythm. Even if you listen to the chanting of shlokas from a distance, they are so soothing and healing to the soul. The vibrations created while chanting the shlokas not only spread positivity but also purify the whole surrounding. There is so much hidden which should be researched and studied by the young generations to come.

It is this language that has the power in its words much more than any other language. Why to criticize our cultural heritages be it language or any other thing. Why are we trying to play dirty politics without realising the gravity? The freedom of speech is not meant to hurt the sentiments of so many who have laid their entire lives for their love of these languages. The politicians are trying to divide us for their benefits. How can we say this is living and that is dead, better to stay away from issues that are too sensitive and scholarly.

Sanskrit is one of the greatest languages. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Late Dr K M Munshi founded this organisation for the propagation of this lovely language, be it Satyamev Jayate or Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam ...Ahinsa parmo dharma .Atithi devo Bhava…. Jeevet shardahshatam…. Vidya vinayen shobhte…. So many taglines of renowned organisations are only in Sanskrit, including LIC. These are best expressed in this immortal language….If one doesn’t know it, then it is their fault and not of any language. Let us try to preserve the beauty of these as much as possible. In Nagpur, even VNIT has short courses for all those who wish to learn Sanskrit. There are many platforms where it is taught free of cost. This language is so close to Sanskriti which means our culture, only those who are cultured can understand this. We don’t expect the temporary leaders to talk or pass comments on something that is an age old and eternal part of our rich heritage. It is the only language that has the power to change the soul and mindset. My both children have learnt Sanskrit and I also could learn along with them and I enjoyed the way it is formulated and crafted. Hamari sanskriti ki pehchan ... .Sanskrit hamari aan, baan aur shaan.
