WITH good showings in this season’s Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, Vidarbha women are expecting to make a mark at WPL auction to be held New Delhi on Thursday. Eight Vidarbha players — skipper Disha Kasat, Bharti Fulmali, Mona Meshram, Kanchan Nagwani, Komal Zanzad, Arya Gohane, Gargi Wankar and Latika Inamdar, will be among 277 (194 Indian and 83 overseas) who will be going under the hammers for 73 available places in the five different franchises.

 

On some solid performances, Vidarbha made it to the Super League stage but missed out on a place in the final after two of their matches were washed out. Bharti was the only Vidarbha to play WPL 2025. The big-hitter impressed in her second season with Gujarat Giants and is likely to fetch more than her base price of Rs 30 lakh. In the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, she scored with a strike rate of 157.14 hitting 12 sixes. Twice she was named Player of the Match.

 

Vidarbha captain Disha, who was part of title-winning Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2023, is in great touch this season. She would be hoping to attract bids from multiple franchises and get better deal that her base price of Rs 10 lakh. Former India player Mona Meshram also excelled with the willow and her experience will be an added advantage. Her base price is Rs 30 lakh. Left-arm seamer Komal Zanzad also played for RCB in WPL 2023 and is in good form with the ball. Komal’s base price is Rs 10 lakh. Kanchan, Arya, Gargi and Latika Inamdar all have done well and will be expecting that somebody picks them.
