OMTI police succeeded in apprehending a miscreant and seized a pistol, live cartridge and a motorcycle from him. The arrested has been identified as Tarun alias Aman Sonkar (19), resident of Ranital, in Lordganj. SHO of Omti Police Station Rajpal Singh Baghel informed that late night on Thursday, police received information that a youth was standing near Omti Nala in Udaiya Mohalla with a pistol, waiting for a potential buyer.

 

Acting promptly on the information, police started a search in the identified as. Continuing a thorough search, police trapped a suspected boy when he was sitting on a motorcycle. During questioning, he identified himself as Tarun alias Aman Sonkar of Lordganj. In his search, police seized a country-made pistol tucked on the right side of his waist inside his lower garment.

 

On checking the weapon, the magazine was found loaded with one live cartridge. The police seized the firearm along with the Suzuki Gixxer motorcycle. Omti police have registered a case against the accused under Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act while further investigation is underway to identify the source of receiving the firearm and reason behind possessing it. The miscreant was arrested with active working of police team comprised of Sub-Inspector Shivgopal, Head Constable Sunil Singh, Head Constable Mahendra, Constable Ankesh, Rajveer and Manish Baghel.
