PRIME Minister Narendra Modi
arrived in Raipur on Friday
evening to participate in the 60th
All India Conference of Directors
General and Inspectors General
of Police (DGP/IGP), which commenced on Friday at the Indian
Institute of Management (IIM)
in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. This
is the first time Chhattisgarh is
hosting the apex-level national
security dialogue.
The Prime Minister, who flew
in on a special plane from Goa,
landed at Swami Vivekananda
Airport and was received by
Union Home Minister Amit Shah,
Governor Ramen Deka,
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai,
and other senior BJP leaders
and officials. The three-day conference, held under the overarching theme ‘Viksit Bharat:
Security Dimensions,’ will see
PM Modi presiding over various
crucial sessions on Saturday,
November 29 and Sunday,
November 30.
Discussions are
underway on a wide array of
national security and policing
challenges, including Left-Wing
Extremism (LWE), with special
emphasis on Naxal-affected
regions, counter-terrorism
strategies, disaster management
and relief efforts, women’s safety and legal rights and the integration of forensic science and
Artificial Intelligence (AI) for
modern policing.
The conference aims to review progress on
internal security challenges and
outline a forward-looking
roadmap in alignment with the
national vision of a ‘Surakshit
Bharat’ and ‘Viksit Bharat’.
Alongside Prime Minister Modi, the conference is being attended
by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Advisor (NSA)
Ajit Doval, Ministers of State for Home Affairs, and over 500 senior
officers, including the Directors General of Police from all States
and Union Territories, and the heads of Central Police Organisations.
The Prime Minister will also present the President’s Police Medal
for Distinguished Service during the event.
PM Modi will participate in the day-long sessions on Saturday
from 8 am to 8:30 pm, and on Sunday from 8 am to 4:30 pm. He is
taking night halt at the new Speaker House in Nava Raipur Atal
Nagar and is scheduled to depart from Raipur on Sunday evening
at approximately 5 pm
