Bag eight medals, with one gold, four silvers, three bronze on Day Two  
 
AFTER a podium-filled Day One, Nagpur athletes bagged a total of eight medals on Day Two of the 36th All India Vidya Bharati Sports Competition affiliated to Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan being held in Hassan, Karnataka. The city athletes bagged one gold, four silver and three bronze medals on the second day of the tournament after wining whopping two golds, two silvers and one bronze medals on the first day. In the 3000 metre race,Janavi Bawne secured the silver medal, finishing the race in 10 minutes and 50 seconds. She was followed closely by team-mate Ruhi Ramekar at third place with a time 11 minutes and 7 seconds.
 
Tanmayi Pimpalkar bagged the silver medal at Under-19 3000 metre race, crossing the finish line in just 10 minutes and 49 seconds. In 4x400 metre relay, the Under-17 team of Priyanka Dhole, Ruhi Ramekar, Mrunali Ghurde and Janavi Bawne, with Dhanashree Kale and Deepali Vahile as additional players clinched the yellow metal, finishing the race in 4 minutes and 19.28 seconds. While their seniors in U-19 category bagged the bronze medal with a time of 4 minutes and 21.89 seconds. The team consisted of Purva Bante, Riya Gode, Sanskriti Dhomane and Tanmayi Pimpalkar. Lavanya Shendra in U-14 400 metre race won the silver medal with a time of 1 minute and 2.55 seconds, Purva Bande too in the U-29 category of the same race bagged the silver medal, clocking the race in just 1 minute and 3.54 seconds. The players were congratulated by Regional President Annaji alias Seshadri Dange and Provincial Organisation Minister, Shailesh Joshi. The team is accompanied by Vaibhav Sarode, Shailesh Misal, Vinod Kosurkar, Pankaj Karpe, Prathamesh Dalal, Janavi Takale, Kulkarni, Dattatray Gande, Sanjay Tadas and Nagesh Joshi.
