The members of Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctor (MARD) will be observing one-day strike on Monday to protest alleged harrassment of Dr Sampada Munde from SDH Phaltan that forced her to take the extreme step. On Sunday, MARD and other organisations took a meeting on the issue at Samvidhan Square. On October 27, the doctors of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Nagpur had organised a solemn candlelight march. The march had the participation of a large number of resident doctors, interns, and faculty members who stood united in silence to express their grief and demand justice.

On Monday, MARD and other organisations will not be attending Outpatient Department (OPD). Meanwhile the other organisations including MAGMO, IMA will start their agitations from November 14 if their demands are not fulfilled. MARD member said, “We seek justice for our colleague and demand strict action against the accused and those responsible for administrative negligence. The safety and dignity of every doctor must be protected.”
