VIDARBHA eves went down fighting against Baroda in their last Elite Group D match of their Under-19 Women’s T20 Trophy underway at the Railway Stadium of Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
With knock-out berth at stakes, the match turned out to be an low-scoring affair. Vidarbha batters could only manage to set up 92 runs at the loss of nine wickets after being asked to bat first.
Arya Pongde (40) was the highest run-getter for Vidarbha. Vidarbha bowlers, however, made a match of it as Sakshi Bhupal, Mansi Borikar, Shreya Lanjewar, Shweta Tiwari and Nimisha kept pegging away.
Baroda batters had to dig deep but they managed to squeeze out victory with only three balls to spare and qualify for the knock-outs along with Rajasthan.
Vidarbha finished fourth in the group with 10 points.
