After an unusually warm week till Friday, the winter chill is back all over Vidarbha including Nagpur as the second capital recorded the third lowest minimum temperature of the season, so far, with 11 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

Citizens woke up to a chilly morning which also witnessed Northerly winds making it a bit difficult to stay outdoors for a morning walk. In Vidarbha, Bhandara witnessed the lowest minimum temperature with 10 degrees Celsius on Saturday followed by Gondia (10.2 degrees Celsius) and Yavatmal (10.8 degrees Celsius). India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that the minimum temperature in Vidarbha will drop further in coming days as dry weather prevails over the entire region. Cyclone ‘Ditwah’ which has wreaked havoc in Sri Lanka and coastal parts of India helped to reduce the dominance of moisture in the atmosphere in the region. It also resulted in drop in minimum temberature in Vidarbha in the last 24 hours.

The Weather Department predicted that minimum temperature will fall further in coming days all over Vidarbha. The Northerly winds will also raise discomfort for the people. On Saturday, Nagpur witnessed maximum temperature below 30 degrees Celsius mark. Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Wardha, Washim and Yavatmal also recorded maximum temperature below 30 degrees Celsius. Akola, Amravati, Bhandara and Brahmapuri recorded maximum temperature above 30 degrees on Saturday.
