Resident doctors of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) have joined the ongoing Statewide protest demanding justice for late Dr Sampada Munde and better safety measures for doctors across Maharashtra. As part of the protest, all OPD (Outpatient Department) services remained closed on Monday and it will continue to be closed till the demands are fulfilled. Casualty and emergency services will continue uninterrupted to ensure that essential patient care is not affected.

Speaking on behalf of the resident doctors, Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) representatives stated, “We are committed to patient care, but we are equally bound to raise our voice for justice and safety. By suspending OPD services, we want to draw the Government’s attention towards our legitimate concerns. If patient care is hampered in any way, the full responsibility lies with the Government for ignoring our repeated appeals.” Leaders present were Dr Dhiraj Salunke – President, MARD Nagpur; Dr Suyash Dhavane, General Secretary, Central MARD; Dr Amol Dhanfule, General Secretary, MARD Nagpur; Dr Swati Patle – Vice President, MARD Nagpur; Dr Ankit Yadav, General Secretary, MARD Nagpur; Dr Bhushan Patil – Treasurer, MARD Nagpur.
