FIR filed in Bairagarh stone-pelting

 

 

 

 

Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) in connection with a stone-pelting incident that occurred following a dispute between two groups in the Camp No. 12 area of Bairagarh. The main accused, Annu Qureshi, and his unidentified associates have been booked under sections related to uttering obscenities, stone-pelting, and criminal intimidation.

 

The search for the accused is ongoing. The incident took place on the night of November 4 in Camp No. 12, where stones were allegedly thrown at the homes of Hindu families. Local residents claim that some Muslim youths frequently roamed the area late at night, passing objectionable comments, and retaliated with stone-pelting when confronted. Residents also alleged that despite filing multiple complaints before this incident, the police had failed to take any action.

 

A video of the attack went viral on social media, prompting Additional DCP Malkit Singh to visit the area on Thursday evening and assure residents of strict action. Police state that the investigation is underway and efforts are being made to apprehend all the accused.
