With the introduction of a new Vande Bharat train to Madhya Pradesh’s basket, people, especially in the northern parts of the State, have a reason to cheer. It is not only going to provide connectivity to major cities spread across two states, but pilgrims will also have the opportunity to visit the country’s most revered religious and cultural destinations in a shorter time.

The Vande Bharat will directly connect Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh with other major cities like Mahoba, Banda, Chitrakoot Dham, Prayagraj Chhibki and Varanasi. Four techno-friendly and time-saving trains are already operational in the state. As per the Railways, the Vande Bharat will depart from Khajuraho for Varanasi at 3:20 pm. The train is scheduled to arrive in Varanasi at 11 pm.

It will depart from Varanasi for Khajuraho the next day at 5:25 am and reach Khajuraho by 1:10 pm. The Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat train will establish direct connectivity on this route and save about two hours and 40 minutes compared to the special trains currently in operation, as per the railways. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday flagged off four new Vande Bharat Express trains from his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, in Uttar Pradesh. He inaugurated three other trains on the Banaras-Khajuraho, Lucknow-Saharanpur, Firozpur-Delhi, and Ernakulam-Bengaluru routes.

Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching the Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express train and gifting four new Vande Bharat trains to the nation, including one in Madhya Pradesh. He said these Vande Bharat trains symbolise speed, progress, and pride. Khajuraho, a priceless treasure of Indian art, culture, and architecture, will now be connected to Kashi and other major religious and cultural cities via the Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat train.

This will enhance passenger convenience, elevate the tourism sector in the state, and widely promote our rich cultural heritage. On behalf of the people of the state, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav conveyed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for the Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat train facility.
