THE Jabalpur Municipal
Corporation (JMC) has conducted a joint drive on 11 major
routes and several busy left-turn
points in the city to ease traffic
congestion. Senior officials said
the removal of temporary structures and roadside stalls has
brought major relief to daily commuters.
The cleared left-turn
lanes have helped streamline
vehicle movement and increased
overall traffic speed.
Officials said the antiencroachment squad conducted the drive on Chhoti LineGwarighat Route, Sai Mandir-ITI
road, Deendayal Chowk-Ukhari,
Ghantaghar-Malviya Chowk,
Chhoti Line-Medical Road,
Gohalpur to Adhartal, Suhagi,
Pantynaka-Tilhari, Dhanvantri
Nagar to Bypass, Super MarketBada Fuhara, Niwarganj, JEC to
Jhanda Chowk, Bada Patthar and
Vijaynagar Haat Bazaar Road.
Municipal Commissioner
Ramprakash Ahirwar said the
drive has made travel safer for
citizens. Earlier, narrow passages
created by illegal structures often
forced vehicles into dangerous
spots. With removal of the illegal structures, accident risk has
come down. Clearing roadside
stalls has also reduced dust and
air pollution, offering clear environmental relief in several areas.
He said citizens have welcomed the changes and
expressed satisfaction with the
improved traffic flow. Ahirwar
said the drive is being carried
out entirely for public interest and
will continue. He appealed to
residents to co-operate with the
administration and avoid creating fresh encroachments so that
the city remains orderly and safe.
