Pandaria MLA Bhavna Bohra performed the bhoomipujan ceremony for irrigation and water conservation projects worth Rs 13.78 crore in village Chhirpani, aimed at strengthening agriculture and improving water availability in the region. These projects include the Mahidbra reservoir head works, renovation of canal structures, construction of two VRBs, CC lining of the main canal, an anicut on the Agar River, an anicut-cum-causeway in Kanhaiya Nala, and a lift irrigation scheme.

Addressing farmers and villagers, Bhavna Bohra said the projects are designed to expand irrigation facilities, conserve rainwater, and improve groundwater levels, ensuring year-round water availability even during summer. She emphasized that these works will significantly increase water storage capacity, reduce farmers’ dependence on rainfall, and improve crop productivity in both Kharif and Rabi seasons. The improved irrigation system will also enable farmers to grow vegetables and diversified crops along with traditional wheat, paddy, pulses, and oilseeds, thereby increasing their income.

She thanked Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and Finance Minister OP Choudhary for their support, stating that the projects reflect the government’s commitment to farmer welfare and rural development. Bohra also highlighted that irrigation and infrastructure projects worth over Rs 121 crore are already under implementation in the constituency, including river diversion schemes, reservoir development, canal remodeling and expansions, which are generating rural employment.
