Dr Samarth second best at Sahyadri

 

ENDURANCE cyclist and Director of Miles N Milers Sports Academy of the city Dr Amit Samarth finished on the podium in 40+ Masters’ category at the 7th edition Sahyadri Classic 4 Ghat Cycle Race at Mahabaleshwar held recently. Dr Samarth took five hours and nine minutes to complete all the 4 climbs. The first place was secured by Anup Pawar of Mumbai while Laxman Idhatey from Pune finished third position. The race is organised on the most difficult ghat sections of Mahabaleshwar which moves from Kelghar Ghat 16 km, Ambenali Ghat 30 km which is the toughest climb of the race and goes near to Pratapgarh Fort, Tapola Ghat and back to Kelghar Ghat. The total distance of all the climbs of the race was 87 kms.
