A TEAM from the Jabalpur
Lokayukta (Special Police
Establishment) unit successfully executed a trap opera
tion following strict instruc
tions from the Director General
of Police, Lokayukta,Yogesh
Deshmukh, and caught a
Grade 3 Assistant red-handed
while accepting bribe close to
Malajkhand-Salitekri main
road, near Prashant
Photocopy, Tehsil Birsa.
The accused was identified
as 58-year old Rajkumar
Ramteke, son of late Khushiyal
Ramteke, posted as an
Assistant Grade 3 (Reader) at
the Tehsildar Office, Birsa,
Balaghat District.
He was trapped on the com
plaint of Santosh Dekwar, son
of late Chamarulal, resident of
Ward No. 7, Pauni,
Malajkhand, Balaghat.
The complainant, Santosh
Dekwar had a case pending
against him under sections 126
and 135(3) of the Bharatiya
Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS) at the
Naib Tehsildar Office in Birsa. The accused, Rajkumar
Ramteke, who served as an
Assistant Grade 3 (Reader) at
the same office, was demanding a bribe of Rs. 3,000 from
Dekwar to expedite the clo
sure of the said case.
The complainant filed a
grievance regarding the
demand with the
Superintendent of Police
Office, Lokayukta, Jabalpur.
Following the necessary verification of the complaint, a
trap operation was organized
on Thursday.
The accused, Rajkumar
Ramteke, was apprehended
red-handed while accepting
the bribe amount of Rs. 3,000.
A case was formally regis
tered against the accused
under the relevant sections of
the Prevention of Corruption
Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018),
specifically including Section
7, Section 13(1)(B) and Section
13(2).
Further investigation and
due legal process are being
undertaken.
The operation was con
ducted by a dedicated team
from the Jabalpur Lokayukta
unit, including, Team In
Charge: Inspector Brijmohan
Singh Narwariya, trap Officer:
Inspector Jitendra Yadav and
other members of the
Lokayukta team.
