The Anjuman Hami-E-Islam (AHI), one of the oldest educational trusts in the region, is commemorating its 138th Foundation Day with a series of events that highlight its enduring commitment to learning, culture and community. Founded in 1888, the trust has grown from a single primary school to a network of 20 institutions spanning kindergarten to postgraduate studies, serving roughly
7,500 students.
Elaborating on the events lined up for the mega celebrations, Dr M Sohail Pervez, Dean, R&D, Anjuman College of Engineering & Technology; said the festivities have already kicked off on December 8 with a vibrant Sports Festival that ran throughout the week, encouraging students from across the
AHI schools to compete in athletics, cricket and traditional games.
Mohammad Javed, Principal, Anjuman High School & Junior College, Sadar; Md Javed Rana, Principal, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad High School & Junior College, Gandhibagh; Iftekhar Ahmed Khan, Principal, Anjuman Urdu Primary School, Sadar; and Zehra Tabassum Ali, Principal, Anjuman English High School; also highlighted
the other events.
A Literary Festival will be held between December 15 and 18, featuring poetry recitations, debates and essay-writing competitions that will showcase the
intellectual talent nurtured within the trust.
The highlight of the calendar is the prestigious All-India Mushaira scheduled for December 20, where poets from across the country will gather at the Anjuman Polytechnic Assembly Hall to present their verses in Urdu, Hindi and English.
The event underscores AHI’s dedication to promoting linguistic heritage alongside modern education. The celebration will conclude with a three-day Cultural Extravaganza from December 21 to 23, featuring music, dance, drama and an exhibition of student artwork that reflects the diverse cultural tapestry of the region.
Throughout the programme, the trust’s alumni - now spread across the globe in fields ranging from engineering to the arts - are being honored for carrying forward the values of
“Apna Anjuman — One Spirit, One Vision, One Legacy.”
Speaking on the occasion, Tanveer Mirza, Chairman CDC Anjuman College of Engineering, said, “For 138 years, Anjuman Hami-E-Islam has been a beacon of education and unity. This year’s celebrations are a tribute to the countless students, teachers and benefactors who have shaped
our journey.”
The week-long programme not only commemorates a historic milestone but also reinforces AHI’s vision of fostering holistic development and inclusive growth for future generations.
