Deputy Chief Minister and District In-charge Minister Jagdish Devda chaired an important Jila Vikas Salahkar Samiti meeting, on Saturday. He reviewed ongoing development works and outlined future plans for the district. During the review of works carry out by Jabalpur Development Authority and the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation, the Deputy Chief Minister stressed the need for planned urban settlement and systematic development of the city. He issued necessary directions to ensure coordinated execution of projects.
 
He also reviewed construction of roads by the Public Works Department, MPIDC and NHAI, along with holding discussions on future infrastructure planning. He reviewed industrial development and employment generation through MPIDC and the District Trade and Industry Centre. He also held detailed discussion on agriculture sector, issues related to fertiliser distribution through the e-token system, stubble management and paddy procurement. Deputy Chief Minister Devda congratulated the state government on completing two years in office and extended advance New Year greetings. He said the state was moving steadily on the path of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav.
 
He directed officials to prioritise resolution of issues discussed in the meeting and to keep him informed about progress. During the meeting the Member of Parliaments raised several constituency-specific issues. Ajay Vishnoi highlighted the importance of transport planning and suggested including a transport nagar in JDA proposals. He also called for improvement of Gulaua Talab, prevention of sewage discharge into water bodies and careful restoration of cement roads during Nal-Jal Yojana works.
 
MLA Ashok Rohani emphasised proper management of sewer lines and road restoration. MLA Dr Abhilash Pandey sought a comprehensive plan for sewerage, drinking water and beautification works in the Jabalpur North Assembly segment. MLA Neeraj Singh urged the Municipal Corporation to ensure basic facilities for displaced families resettled at Bhadpura. MLA Santosh Barkade called for construction of approach roads to the ring road. Collector Raghvendra Singh briefed the members on the formation and objectives of the Committee. Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh, several MLAs, District Panchayat President Asha Mukesh Gotia, senior BJP leaders, Superintendent of Police Sampat Upadhyay were also present on the occasion.
