SECR stun defending champs Rabbani

 

 

 

SOUTH East Central Railway (SECR) stunned defending champions Rabbani Club, Kamptee 3-0 in the ongoing JSW-NDFA Elite Division Football Championship at Dr Ambedkar Football Stadium in Suyog Nagar. The win took SECR to second spot while Rabbani slipped to third on the 10-team Elite points table which is led by Young Muslim Football Club. It was a fighting first half where both teams tried to gain upper hand.

 

However, none of the them managed to take the lead. In the second half, the railmen changed gears and succeeded in finding opener in the 53rd minute through Sumit. One brought two as within six minutes, Tajinder Singh (59th) doubled the lead to put SECR in a comfortable position. Owis Khan scored the third goal in the added time (90+2) to hand his side a fine win.
