THEannual sports festival was
held at Shri Guru Teg Bahadur
Khalsa Mahavidyalaya (SGT
BKM), Jabalpur, on Tuesday,
under the guidance of Principal
Dr R S Chandok. Students from all departments
of the college participated in this
sports festival with great enthu
siasm, zeal and sportsmanship.
The event was graced by the
presence of Sardar M S Chawla,
Chairman of the College
Management Committee, as the
chief guest. The sports festival was inau
gurated by the Principal by
releasing balloons of various
colours into the sky, symbolis
ing the all-round development
and positive energy of students
through sports.
Principal Dr Chandok said,
“Sports are not just a means of
physical exercise, but they also
teach discipline, self-confidence,
leadership, and team spirit.If
today’s students learn discipline
and struggle on the playing field,
they can achieve success in every
aspect of life.”
He further stated, “Winning
and losing are a natural part of
sports, but participation with a
sporting spirit is true victory.
Every student should develop
healthy competition and positive
thinking through sports.”
As part of the Sports Festival,
various indoor competitions,
such as chess and table tennis
and outdoor competitions, such
as kho-kho, kabaddi, volleyball,
badminton, cricket, races (100m,
200m, 400m, 800m), javelin
throw, discus throw, shot put,
bicycle race, rope jumping, tug
of war, and pittu, were organised,
in which students participated
enthusiastically. At the closing
ceremony, the winning partici
pants were awarded prizes by
the guests.

Pyaasi and Dr Rohit Verma active
ly supported in the successful
programme.
