ADDRESSING a press conference on
Thursday, Deputy Chief Minister
Jagdish Devda said that Madhya
Pradesh is moving steadily towards
excellent financial management. The
State’s Finance Department now pre
pares budgets based on a zero-based
budgeting process, while a three-year
rolling budget system and several
innovative measures have strength
ened the State’s financial planning.
Reports from financial institutions
have appreciated Madhya Pradesh’s
budgetary reliability, financial man
agement, and banking standards.
Devda noted that continuous growth
in capital expenditure has contributed
to steady increases in the State’s Gross
Domestic Product, and the state
remains committed to supporting the Central Government’s vision of a developed India by 2047.
Several
initiatives have also been taken to benefit Government employees and pensioners.
Highlighting departmental achievements, he said that the Commercial
Tax Department collected Rs 55,634
crore in 2024-25, and up to November
2025-26, Rs 34,829 crore has been collected.Enforcement actions based on
data analytics generated Rs 967 crore,
while audits contributed Rs 404 crore.
New office buildings are being con
structed in Burhanpur, Rajgarh,
Khargone, Jhabua, Katni, and
Narsinghpur districts. The Excise
Department has announced a three
year plan to boost revenue, including
promoting liquor exports within India
and abroad and issuing one-day liquor
licenses through a mobile application.
A central data repository is being
created to consolidate work orders
and payment information across
departments, and data analytics will monitor enforcement and curb
misuse of ITC by bogus businesses.
Tax evasion will also be controlled
using the Unified Logistics Interface
Platform (ULIP), and a dedicated Data Analytics and Tax Research Unit
will be formed.
Devda also highlighted that
Madhya Pradesh is the first State in
India where 75 types of documents,
including property deeds, power of
attorney, and mortgages, can be reg
istered from home through video
KYC. The Sampada 2.0 portal won
the Gold Medal at the National e
Governance Awards 2025, and
Aadhaar and PAN e-KYC verification
has made services more convenient
for the public.
The Planning, Economics, and
Statistics Department reported that
the State’s Gross State Domestic
Product in 2024-25 was Rs 15,03,395
crore, with per capita income at Rs
1,52,615. Online registration of births
and deaths is now 100% through the
CRS portal.
Under the Madhya Pradesh Jan
Abhiyan Parishad, the 12-day
Narmada Path Survey and Awareness
Campaign covered 502 villages in 51
development blocks along 16 districts of the Narmada river, while the Bawdi Utsav saw the cleaning of 26,000 bawdis at the block level, accompanied by the publication of the Boond Saheje
Bawdi Smarika.
