Mahavidyalaya organised a
specialised awareness pro
gramme in observance of
‘Women Harassment
Prevention Week’. The initia
tive followed directives from All
India Council for Technical
Education (AICTE) and
Ministry of Women and Child
Development, Government of
India, aimed at fostering a
secure and dignified environ
ment for women in professional
and educational spaces. The event was organised by
college’s Vishakha Committee
under the leadership of
Principal Dr R S Chandok. After
inaugural formalities, Principal
Dr Chandok emphasised that
ensuring safety and equal
opportunity for women is both
a constitutional mandate and
a moral imperative.
He urged
students and staff to utilise
Vishakha Committee as a pri
mary resource for redressal,
advocating for a sensitive and
inclusive campus culture. Invited as chief guest,
Advocate Neelam Jain, a promi
nent criminal lawyer, detailed
provisions of Sexual
Harassment of Women at
Workplace (Prevention,
Prohibition and Redressal) Act,
2013. She clarified that harass
ment encompasses physical,
mental, verbal, and digital mis
conduct. Furthermore, she pro
vided instruction on utilising
the She-Box portal for filing
complaints. Special guest Dr
Amarjeet Kaur, an expert in
Sujok Therapy, addressed psy
chological impact of workplace
stress.
She demonstrated ther
apeutic techniques designed
to promote mental fortitude
and self-empowerment. The
seminar was conducted in pres
ence of Bhupinder Kaur Bansal
and Vishakha Committee In
charge Dr Shashi Dubey. The
session was moderated by Dr
Harshita Shukla, with signifi
cant contributions from senior
faculty members and commit
tee representatives including
Shikha Parashar, Dr Manish
Shah and Dr Anju Pathak. The
event concluded with a vote of
thanks by Dr Shashi Dubey.
