The Vidarbha Economic Development Council (VED) successfully hosted a seminar on “Bamboo Industries: A Catalyst for Vidarbha’s Growth” on Saturday at the Chitnavis Centre, Civil Lines.
The inaugural session was graced by M Srinivasa Rao, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Nagpur, as the chiefg, and P Kalyan Kumar, Managing Director, Maharashtra Bamboo Development Board, as the guest of honour.
In his address, M Srinivasa Rao highlighted that the Government Resolution (GR) for establishing the Forest Industrial Development Corporation (FIDC) - a dedicated body for promoting forest-based industries - has already been issued and will become fully operational soon.
