‘Walking bulls’ can soon generate electricity; turbine system to be developed at RBU
Staff Reporter :
A revolutionary project to develop electricity by rotating a turbine through the walking motion of bulls can soon become reality. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, has instructed the development of the project on war footing during a meeting recently held at Mataji Goushala, Barsana, Uttar Pradesh (U P).
The meeting, attended by Brajsharan Baba Maharaj, Chaudhary Laxminarayan, U P Cabinet Minister, was organised to address grave situation of bulls caused by their works being overtaken by technology and them being phasing out of rural utility.
Padmesh Gupta, President of Go Vigyan Anusandhan Kendra, who proposed and organised the meeting, presented the innovative concept model of generating electricity by rotating a turbine through the walking motion of bulls. The concept received enthusiastic appreciation from all dignitaries.
Brajsharan Baba Maharaj consented to commence the pilot project at Barsana Goushala, and Chaudhary Laxminarayan assured that on successful implementation, the initiative would be expanded across all goushalas of Uttar Pradesh.
As the next step, an official proposal has been submitted to Ramddeobaba University, Nagpur, to undertake the research, engineering, and development of a 1 MW Bull-Operated Turbine System.
The pilot project will be constructed at Go Vigyan Anusandhan Kendra and later replicated nationwide.
For project planning, Dr Manoj Tatwadi from Go Vigyan Anusandhan Kendra and Prof Uday Mujumdar from Ramdeobaba University have been appointed as Coordinators.
This initiative marks a historic milestone in green energy production, rural economic revitalisation, and the restoration of the lost dignity and utility of India’s sacred bulls, an important part of the nation’s cultural heritage.
