VIDARBHA suffered another batting failure and went down to Chhattisgarh by seven wickets in an U-19 Women’s One-Day Trophy match in Hyderabad on Friday.
In spite of a good start, Vidarbha were all out for 163 runs in 37 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat. Openers Arya Pongde and skipper Riddhima Maradwar gave Vidarbha a good platform by adding 70 runs for the opening wicket, before the latter was out for 31.
Arya and Akshara Itankar took the score to 112 before the second wicket fell. Arya held her end up nicely but a delegue of wickets at the other end saw Vidarbha losing their last eight wickets for the addition of just 51 runs. Arya top-scored with 72 (87 balls, 4x9).
Chhattisgarh knocked off the required runs in
only 30.5 overs to leave Vidarbha winless in the tournament.
