SENSATION prevailed in
Deendayal Chowk area when an
auto-rickshaw driver brutally
murdered by another driver over
the argument for fetching passengers, on Sunday evening. The
deceased has been identified as
Pawan Ahirwar.
According to Madhotal police,
a dispute over picking up passengers turned violent and result
ed in a brutal murder. In prima
facie of the investigation, police
learnt that during the clash, one
of the auto drivers pulled out a
sharp-edged weapon and
attacked the other, slashing his
throat.
The victim collapsed on
the road, bleeding profusely. Bystanders immediately
attempted to rush him to the
hospital, but due to excessive
blood loss, he succumbed to
his injuries on the spot. Upon
receiving information, senior
police officials along with local
police rushed to the scene. The
body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem
examination. Police are examining CCTV footage from cam
eras installed near the incident
site to identify and arrest the
accused at the earliest.
After
committing the crime, the
accused managed to escape
from the spot. Police have set
up barricades at major inter
sections across the city and are
questioning suspects.
Preliminary probe suggests that
the two drivers had a history of
disputes over passengers.
