Career Guidance Scheme and
the Indian Knowledge Tradition
Cell, at Prime Minister College
of Excellence, Government
Mahakoshal College, Jabalpur,
organised a ‘Mathematical
Poster, Mathematical Mehndi
and Mathematical Rangoli’ com
petition on Saturday.
The students actively partici
pated in the event which was
organised as a part of National
Mathematics Day Week.
Presiding over the event,
Principal, Professor Alkesh
Chaturvedi, said that mathe
matics is the foundation of log
ical thinking, problem-solving
and discipline.
Mathematics is
essential in daily life for tasks
such as telling time, budgeting,
buying and selling, and meas
uring distances. Professor Arun
Shukla, Divisional Nodal Officer,
Swami Vivekananda Career
Guidance Scheme, Jabalpur
Division, said that mathematics
needs to be understood and prac
ticed. Continuous practice and
proper guidance can make math
ematics simple and interesting. Dr Shailendra Srivastava, Dr
R K Srivastava, Dr Mrityunjay
Singh, Dr Kusum Lata Rajak,
HoD (Mathematics) and Dr
Sunita Singh. Various competi
tions including Poster, Rangoli
and Mehandi were organised. In
poster competition, the first,
second and third prizes were
received by Apurva (BSc Second
Year), Pooja Raikwar (BSc
Second Year) and Arpit Patel
(BCom Third Year) respectively.
In Rangoli, Mooyuri (BSc First
Year) obtained first prize while
Sonali Kachi (BSc First Year) and
Pranjal Chaurasia (BBA Third
Year) received second and third
prizes respectively. Similarly, in
Mehndi, the first prize was won
Sonali Kachi (BSc First Year)
while the second and third
prizes were given to Adwiti Singh
(BSc Second Year) and Priya
Vishwakarma (BA First Year).
The judges for the competition
were Dr Vibha Nigam, Dr
Shailprabha Koshta, Dr Jyoti
Jungare, Dr Samta Naidu, Dr
Manisha Saxena and Dr
Jageshwar Prajapati.
